Set on a large block with fantastic westerly views overlooking the city, we created this large suburban garden in Torrens Park in 2018 just after the house was constructed. The heavily sloping site provided some challenges during construction, to save our client money on retaining walls we decided to terrace the back garden into 3 sections with sloping batters in between that were planted with a variety of plants to stabilise the ground. Corten steel edged gravel paths connect the 3 tiers, the bottom section designated to the children’s play area, the middle a fire pit area with a stunning Sticks & Stones Kadai fire bowl, the top area a lush irrigated lawn to play near the pool.

The front yard was mass planted for year round colour, a small Basket Range wall was built for textural effect & we built a curved hardwood batten screen to hide the rainwater tank.
